So new, so scared, so screwed. Great, I finally came out at 25. I'm the only "gay" person any of my friends know. I have no idea where to meet women. I assume there will be no wingman beside me as I am already starting to feel ousted by my circle. Advice?

Get thyself to your nearest gay/lesbian center and make some new friends! We have a couple of Philadelphia posters that I'm sure can send you in the right direction. Congrats on coming out! And really, you're pretty young... I know women who didn't come out until their 40s and 50s so,really, you're doing just fine.

I came out when I was 26 you will be fine. Making new friends is an investment and it takes a while. Have you seen the FAQ page? There's some information there that you may find useful. Oh and your welcome basket of muffins should arrive shortly. ;)

The Willaim Way center is a good place to start. Remember that coming out is a process...everything doesn't fall into place at once, and it takes time and effort. Be patient.

Weird to go by myself? First off, Thanks for the info on the William Way center. I think it will be a very good start. When you type into google "what to do incase you ever decide to come out.." it just doesn't give very credible or inviting ideas. I dont want to immediately join a dating site, ya know? (I did'nt really type that into google. Hoping humor shows through in text). haha Also, I must thankyou for the list of events to go to in the Phila/ NJ area. Though like I said, I just have to build up a little courage to go to big events, as I'll probably be going by myself.

you're feeling ousted? really? Gosh, with friends like yours, who needs enemies? I'm still friends with a handful of people who knew me before I came out (at x), but now, most of my friends are gay. Philadelphia has a nice gay scene. My advice is to have healthy goals; ixnay meeting the love of your life (or new BFF) at the bar idea and remember that you're supposed to be having a good time.

ousted... or weirded... or something I think its just, maybe some knew but never wanted to accept it and now that Ive made headline news to them , they are very offput by it. I think they dont know how to react. So the general feeling toward me right now is... weirded out. ? We'll see how it goes, generally I think I'm waiting for all the dust to settle.

I had a different experience with my friends. Most of my friends were waiting for me to finally get it-- none of them were surprised. Actually, I think they were surprised it took me so long to realize it. I also think lots of things contributed to those friendships going to the back burner; it wasn't solely based on my coming out. Since I don't know you or your friends, I have to say it might be time to get some gay friends and do gay things or vice versa. If exploring the gay world is too weird for your current pals, then adjust.
